The Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize honours Canadian albums of the artistic distinction, without regards to sales or affiliations. The Winners and nominees are selected from the past, from four distinct time periods: 1960-75, 1976-85, 1986-95 and 1996-05.
The Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize posters are one-of-a-kind, screen-print tribute works of art, commissioned to honour the most recent albums that received the Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize designation.
typotherapy’s Creative Director Noël Nanton was commissioned to commemorate k-os`s 2017 Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize win for Joyful Rebellion. The limited edition poster is an abstract typographic rendition of Joyful Rebellion by k-os, and it is a nod to the albums spiritual fusion of hip-hop, reggae, soul, and flamenco influences. The original silk screened artwork consists of four spot colours including metallic silver, along with overprinted elements, measuring 18″ x 24″.
