Silvana Metallo is a Toronto based photographer who has a distinct flare for fashion photography. Her work boldly explores the worlds of fashion, beauty, and interiors. Known for providing uniquely stunning images for glamorous celebrities and major institutions including L’Oreal, Avon, Home Décor, Jules Power, Molly Johnston, and Nelly Furtado. As well, Silvana was recently congratulated for winning the ‘Unique Photography’ contest, a contest highlighting the launch of Avon’s new fragrance entitled ‘Little Black Dress’.

typotherapy was approached by Silvana to design a limited edition book that would document her collection of fashion photography. The large format coffee table book consists of over 90 pages of commissioned work and personal projects, interlaced with understated typographic treatments. The cover, a translucent vinyl overlay, reveals an image made up of tiny rows of type purposely juxtaposed having the portrait and title appear through. This extraordinary book articulates Silvana’s passion for photography and stunning imagery. Ahead of its time, Metallo’s book continues to receive great compliments.
