After a number of years art directing Greenpeace’s magazine and their annual edition Planet Greenpeace, typotherapy was commissioned to create a new journal that amalgamates both publications, entitled Planeté (recognized in English and French). The redesign revolved around the formation of its unique, modern yet friendly identity and led to the development of two custom typefaces used for the magazine, Society Semi Bold Rounded and Solution Light.
The note book size magazine places its focus on Greenpeace’s primary campaigns and gives in-depth profiles of their front line campaigners. The user-friendly spreads feature dynamic images, inviting, easy-to-read typography, overlapping graphic elements to help you navigate, and alternate originations that allude to future online digital versions, soon to come. Furthermore, each magazine cover features a wrap around image and is designed to reveal a promotional poster when unfolded—a conscious gesture, to avoid any excess waste from the printing process. Each issue is featured in English and French and corresponds with online components and social media.
